Graf Zeppelin Germany Flight postcard
Object Details
- Description
- Picture postcard carried by the LZ127 Graf Zeppelin on its November 3 flight to Böblingen. The card is franked with a 50 Reichspfennig airmail stamp tied by an October 20, 1929, onboard postmark. This was a piece of mail intended for a flight that was cancelled on short notice and was then put aboard the later Böblingen flight. A rectangular confirmation cachet "Mit Luftschiff 'Graf Zeppelin' befördert" ("Carried on the airship Graf Zeppelin") was also applied. The card also received a Böblingen Flughafen (Böblingen airport) postmark dated November 3, 1929.
