- Description
- Cover carried by the LZ127 Graf Zeppelin on its November 10 flight to Frankfurt. A 1 Reichsmark German airmail stamp is tied by an onboard postmark dated November 10, 1929. In addition, the cover bears an onboard cachet in red "An Bord des Luftschiffes Graf Zeppelin 10.Nov.1929" ("On board the airship Graf Zeppelin November 10, 1929) and a red rectangular flight cachet. After the landing in Frankfurt, the cover received a Frankfurt airport cancel dated November 10, 1929, and a red forwarding cachet indicating regular airmail to the destination. A private cachet in blue features a zeppelin and the inscription "Luftschiff Graf Zeppelin Süddeutschlandfahrt" ("Airship Graf Zeppelin South Germany flight").
