- Description
- This Religious Freedom Issue stamp commemorated the 300th anniversary of the Flushing Remonstrance. The Flushing Remonstrance was a petition to Director-General of the colony of New Netherland Peter Stuyvesant, in which the citizens of Flushing requesting an end to religious persecution, especially the ban on Quaker worship. The stamp features an image of a bible, a capotain hat and a quill pen.
