- Description
- This Champion of Liberty Issue stamp honors Baron Karl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, a Finnish military leader and statesman. He served as military leader during the Finnish Civil War and World War Two. He was promoted to the honorary rank of Field Marshal, a title given to distinguished generals. He later served as the sixth President of Finland. The stamp depicts a medallion with Mannerheim’s portrait.
