- Civil War Naval free frank cover posted by Rear Admiral John Dahlgren aboard his flagship. Admiral Dahlgren held this command from 1863 to 1865. He is most famous for his work on Naval ordnance and has been called the father of Naval ordinance. Dahlgren Hall at the Naval Academy and Dahlgren, Virginia were named for him.
