Election information from NY senator circular
Object Details
- Description
- This election information circular from New York Senator Liz Krueger alerts members of her district that all New York residents can now vote by mail. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 primary and general election in the United States were the first to be conducted by mail across the entire country. Mailings by boards of election, the postal service, and non-profit organizations sought to educate voters, many of whom had never voted by mail before, on how to complete and return mail-in ballots on time. The topics of covid safety, the 2020 census and elections increasingly overlapped during the run-up to the 2020 United States presidential election. Voting by mail in the 2020 election became a public health issue and a political talking point.
