Brother to the Rescue
Weather and Disasters
One day they called overtime. It wasn’t snowing or anything and I thought, ok, I can do that. Next thing you know, the storm came and we had to stay the night, like in the locker room, sleeping and you would wake up and just wash your face and thank God, and say, ‘Okay, now it’s over, I’m getting ready to go home!’ I trudged out there and get to my car (this is in Detroit on Jefferson and Fourth Street by the way) and the snow had gotten so deep, it had covered the tires. So by me being single and all alone, about 6am in the morning I thought, what am I going to do? And lo and behold, who pulls up in the jeep, my brother and his friend. So they just dug deep, dug deep, dug deep, and it took an hour to dig me out, but I was thankful. And the first thing that came to my mind was rain/sleet/snow or whatever the Post Office is going to deliver. And they delivered me out of trouble as well as delivered.
