Conversation Kit

This resource is a series of prompts designed to encourage deeper thinking and help facilitate discussion between visitors. They are designed to be used while or after viewing the onsite or online exhibition Voting by Mail: Civil War to Covid-19. All questions are written to be open-ended, creating space for a diversity of responses and connections.

Lesson Plan

This lesson plan, designed for students in grades 6-12, guides students through an inquiry into the historical and contemporary roles voting by mail has in the United States. Through analyzing primary sources from the 19th-21st century, students will think like historians as they practice close looking and critical thinking.
